Consultancy services
Many organisations are so busy running the day to day business that it can be difficult for them to dedicate the time and resources to do more strategic and culture-based work. Sometimes this work requires a fresh perspective and an ability to ask difficult questions. Using a skilled consultant can help by provoking new thinking and facilitating the development of workable solutions.

Campbell Parkes Consulting can offer the following consultancy services:

Strategy/policy development and implementation
I offer a mixture of consultancy services that use my experience in strategic planning, public health multidisciplinary policy development and implementation as well as my knowledge and experience in work-based psychology:

Leadership development strategy
Development of practical, evidence-based strategies for leadership development of staff at all levels from the board room to the front line. Ensuring that the bigger picture of leadership development is addressed – i.e. it is not just picking out and developing certain people in the organisation and putting them back into an unchanged organisation. It is also working out how the organisation is going to “walk its talk” by actively supporting its chosen leadership values and beliefs on a day to day basis. It is important to look at what organisational systems and structures are needed to support leadership development at all levels of the organisation and how these will be put in place.

Leadership development and management training programmes
Development of specific, deliverable leadership and management development programmes, including the assessment of development needs.

Clinical involvement and engagement
Development of strategies to involve clinicians in strategic planning, modernisation programmes, policy development and implementation. Working out practical solutions for motivating clinicians and making clinical engagement happen, taking into account the realities of their busy working lives.

Public health policy development and implementation
Leading and facilitating the development of new policy or reviews of previous policies. Work may involve the facilitation of multidisciplinary groups across different sectors or smaller working groups.

Improving interpersonal and team effectiveness

Team development
Facilitation of team development programmes to assist teams work more productively amongst themselves and also with other teams. Level of input can vary from facilitation of team “away days” to more in depth work with team members on roles, objectives, interpersonal dynamics and culture. Psychometric tools can be used if needed (e.g. Myers Briggs Type Indicator, Emotional Intelligence indicators).

Improving motivation and performance
Working with individuals and teams on how to improve motivation and performance. In particular, examining the underlying beliefs that impact on motivation and advising on how these can be improved.

Culture and diversity of working styles

Valuing diversity
Helping organisations to understand the value and contribution of diversity in its staff, especially focussing on personal working style. Assessing the impact of perceived work cultures and decision making strategies on the workforce.

Work-life balance
Advising on methods to assess and improve work-life balance and how this fits in practice with perceived and espoused organisational culture.
